Hyatt has added a third property in New York State under its Joie de Vivre brand.

Hotel Nyack (previously known as The Time Nyack Hotel) is located in Hudson Valley, around an hour’s drive from New York City.

The 133-room hotel has views of the Hudson River and Governor Mario M Cuomo Bridge, and is housed within a former factory building. There are plans to renovate the property, “including its culinary offering”.

Hotel Nyack joins Hotel 50 Bowery and Park South Hotel as the third property under the brand in the State of New York, with other locations including Baltimore, Chicago and San Francisco.

Hyatt added the Joie de Vivre brand (also referred to as JDV) to its portfolio when it acquired Two Roads Hospitality in 2018.

The group describes JDV as “a collection of heartfelt stories, brought to life as boutique neighbourhood hotels”.

The first Joie de Vivre property outside of the US opened in Beijing in 2019, and there are also plans to add three JDV hotels in Sweden.

Commenting on the news Lawrence Bain, managing partner of Juniper Capital Partners (which is overseeing the operations of Hotel Nyack), said:

“At Hotel Nyack, guests are able to immerse themselves in the vibrant town that offers art, culture, history and nature. With a commitment to the Nyack community and our guests, we were drawn to Hyatt’s Joie de Vivre playfulness and deep respect for its neighbourhoods and Real Hospitality Group’s industry leading performance. We believe installing these two groups as an extension of our team will bring a bright, successful future for the hotel.”
